Safety Systems Recalibration (ADAS)

Ensure the proper functioning of your driving aids after a window replacement.

Modern vehicles incorporate advanced safety technologies, called ADAS ( Advanced Driver Assistance Systems ), such as:

  • automatic emergency braking.
  • lane departure warnings.
  • distance sensors.
  • traffic sign recognition.

These systems are directly linked to the windshield or other glass units equipped with sensors and cameras. After replacing a window, it is mandatory to recalibrate these devices so that they continue to operate accurately and safely .

When should ADAS recalibration be performed?

Recalibration is essential in the following cases:

* Windshield replacement (even if ADAS appears to be working)
* Front camera relocation or disconnection
* Bumper or chassis alignment work
* ADAS malfunction indicator light on dashboard illuminates

Some manufacturers systematically require recalibration after each replacement windshield . It is a safety and legal operation .

Static Recalibration

Made in the workshop with specific target panels , laser lines , and a bench of measure calibrated .
Suitable for most European and Asian brands (e.g. Volkswagen, Audi, Toyota, etc.).

Steps:

  1. Positioning the vehicle on a flat surface.
  2. Precise alignment with static targets.
  3. Connection to the manufacturer software.
  4. Camera calibration according to factory data.
Dynamic Recalibration

Performed on the road, the vehicle is driven at a constant speed while sensors analyze the road signs and trajectory in real time.
Recommended or required for certain models (e.g., Ford, Mazda).

Steps:

  1. Connecting diagnostic tools.
  2. Checking the sensors.
  3. Controlled driving on a defined route (minimum 20 to 30 minutes).
  4. Validation of the saved parameters.
