FAQs

Getting started with Afterpay

What is Afterpay ?

Afterpay is a flexible payment option that makes it easier to manage your budget while still getting the service you need. With Afterpay, you can split your purchase into four interest-free payments, providing an alternative to paying the full amount upfront.

Download the Afterpay app to your mobile device. Make sure you review account requirements here. For existing Afterpay customers, there’s no need to sign up again.

Welcome back! Existing Afterpay customers can use the cell phone number associated with your Afterpay account to log into the app and use Afterpay in-store or online.

Customers may be charged late fees if a scheduled payment is not made on time. For more information on fees, please check out Afterpay’s Help Center.

In order to have an account with Afterpay, you must:

  • Live in the U.S. & have a valid U.S. mailing address
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid and verifiable mobile number
  • Use a credit or debit card to make a purchase

Afterpay requires your legal name, address, date of birth, a U.S. mobile number, and either a U.S. debit or credit card to sign up. Afterpay requires a mobile phone number and text message verification to log in, instead of a traditional username and password.

You can use Afterpay for purchases of $35 or more. To check your estimated Afterpay spending power, visit the Afterpay app. For more information about your spending power, please check out Afterpay’s Help Center.

Yes! Each customer has an estimated spending power they can use to make purchases. Your spending power is not an open line of credit. Each transaction is separately reviewed for approval. Existing orders are subtracted from your spending power to show the available spending power you have to make purchases with Afterpay.
